Rishav is based out of the Kolkata office as a Partner. Rishav has completed his BBA.LLB from Symbiosis Law School, Pune. He has started his career with a leading law firm in Kolkata, where he spent over a decade. He brings with him around 11 years of experience with core competence in the areas of commercial litigation, arbitration (Domestic and International) and employment.

Rishav has advised several clients, both in the public and private sector, in various commercial litigations, including strategy and conflict advisory in potential dispute situations. He also has experience in handling civil litigation matters such as suits [Insurance claims, Money Suits, Testamentary Suits, Suits relating to Tortious Liability (defamation), Eviction Suits and Admiralty Suits], Writ Petitions, Public Interest Litigation (PIL), contempt proceedings etc.He has handled litigations before a number of High Courts in India and also the Supreme Court of India. He also regularly conducts trials in various domestic arbitrations.

Rishav also focuses on labour and employment advisory and litigations involving structuring senior management contracts and exits, disciplinary/domestic inquiries, sexual harassment at workplace, reorganization and trade union related issues, compliances under various labour legislations including those relating to social security benefits, industrial disputes, termination, transfers, confidentiality, solicitation and non-compete clauses etc. Rishav has successfully represented MNCs in civil suits against trade unions disrupting business operations through strikes.

Rishav has spoken widely on issues pertaining to legal aspects of domestic arbitration, recent developments in the Indian arbitration law and various aspects of Employment and Labour Laws and writes regularly on various legal topics. He is also actively involved in social causes and is serving as a Trustee in a reputed charitable organization.

  • Co-authored an article titled as “A Private Partner Under A PPP Model Who Has A Direct and Positive Interest In The Compensation Awarded Is A Person Interested Under The Land Acquisition Act 1894” published in Lexology and Mondaq.
  • Secured 2nd Runners-up position as a team in 9th Henry Dunant International Moot Court Competition, New Delhi.
  • Awarded Best Memorial in the 4thH. Raisoni Law School, Nagpur and Indian Society of International Law, New Delhi Moot Court Competition, Nagpur.
  • Part of the student research team of Symbiosis Law School, Pune that is updating the book “Our Constitution defaced and defiled” by N.A. Palkhivala for the Shri. Nani Palkhivala Trust.
