Mr. Arup Bannerjee is an Advocate on Record (AOR) at the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India since 2006. He started practicing in the Supreme Court of India in 1998 and became member of the Supreme Court Bar Association in 2001. During his early years of practice, he has been a junior to Late Mr. P.S. Mishra, Senior Advocate, Late Mr. S.B. Sanyal, Senior Advocate, Mrs. Pinky Anand, Senior Advocate, Mr. D.P. Mukherjee and Mr. Ashok Mathur. It was under the aegis of Mr. D.P. Mukherjee that Mr. Bannerjee underwent one year training for appearing in Advocate-on-Record Examination and in 2006; he passed the Examination and became an Advocate on Record (AOR) at the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.

During his career, he has handled cases involving issues related to DNA Test, Interpretation of common intension where time is a suspect, Tax-Fees and Quid Pro Quo, Double Taxation, Conditions for exemption from personal appearance, Nucleus of Joint Family, Insurance laws, Murder Trials in Sessions Courts, Securitization and Banking laws, NRC-Assam, Cheque bouncing laws, Summary Proceedings, Tenancy Act cases, Transfer Petitions, Culpability in homicide, Interpretation of Lien, necessity of a nature of finality in the order for maintainability of a Revision petition in Criminal Cases, service matters involving principles of appointments, transfer, posting, promotion, pension, dismissal, reinstatement with consequential benefits, provident fund, Medical negligence cases, Matrimonial matters of maintenance and D.V. Act, Juvenile Justice Act, Writ Petitions at High Court as well as Supreme Court, arbitration matters, mediation in Supreme Court Mediation Centre etc.
